Hawkesbury City Council Visitor Economy Business Mentoring Program

EOI applications are now closed for the Hawkesbury City Council Visitor Economy Business Mentoring Program. Applications closed on Friday 22nd April 2022. 

Following the success of the Small Business Mentoring Program delivered in 2020, more spots were open to support and empower 7 business owners and start-ups in optimising their business.

This program is free of charge to successful applicants and is funded by a successful Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund (BLERF) Grant received by Hawkesbury City Council. 

The Program is being offered to existing businesses as well as startups that have a business idea and have a registered ABN that will support the development of the visitor economy in the Hawkesbury. 

The Program has been designed to be delivered in a group mentoring format for five (5) sessions. Program will be:

  • Four (4) x group sessions (dates below)

  • One (1) x one-on-one session with a mentor

You must be available on these dates and times to be eligible for the program.

Supporting the mentoring journey, mentees will have access to a suite of practical workshop style webinars, tools and resources as well as ongoing support from your mentor. The Program will include a deep business assessment followed by group mentoring sessions tailored for your business needs. 

Hawkesbury City Council adopted a Business Recovery Plan in May 2021. This plan was prepared to help businesses recover from the recent external challenges. Since then Council has been successful in receiving a $200,000 grant from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund (BLERF) to enable the implementation of various actions stemming from the Business Recovery Plan. The initiatives include:

  • Undertaking engaging with industries in the visitor economy

  • Continuing the Business Mentoring Program, and 

  • Developing and implementing actions to support the visitor economy 

  • Continuing building the capacity of the industry.
